Safer Internet Day 2025 – Empowering the Next Generation
On February 11, 2025, Nepal joined the global community to celebrate Safer Internet Day under the theme “Together for a Better Internet.” ISPAN, in collaboration with ChildSafeNet and the National Child Rights Council (NCRC), launched a nationwide awareness month.
The 2025 campaign focused on the “Safety by Design” principle. ISPAN-led workshops reached over 500 schools, educating students on identifying AI-generated deepfakes and preventing cyberbullying. As member ISPs, we are now implementing standardized DNS-level filtering options for households, allowing parents to easily manage age-restricted content.
Fact: Only 23% of Nepali parents are aware of parental control software. ISPAN is bridging this gap through local-language “Safety Toolkits”.
Webinar Insight: A joint panel with Ncell and WorldLink discussed the ethical use of AI and the legal repercussions of digital harassment under the new Cyber Security Act.
